for the Classroom *Apply the strategies and skills taught in the classroom and apply those to everyday situations. |
Classroom
Focus Our focus is on improving reading, writing, and written language skills. Instruction is delivered in small group or one-on-one settings. |

| Events Each month we try to engage in supplemental activities that relate to the units/lessons learned in the classroom. These activities are hands-on and enjoyable for the students. We are creating a monthly scrapbook to capture these fun moments. A different student writes a summary of each month to all be combined at the end of the year. Each student will receive a copy of the book at the end of the year. |

| Biographical
Information Mrs. Koenig was born and raised in Bellevue, Iowa. She attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where she graduated in 2004 with a double major in elementary and early childhood education, and a minor in early childhood special education. After graduating, she returned to Bellevue, got married, and began teaching at East Central. She has been teaching elementary special education resource for four years and loves every minute of it. She has gotten her Instructional Strategist I endorsement. She loves furthering her own learning in education and learning more about educating today's students. |
