PUBLIC HEARING, MAY 17, 2010
The Board met for the public hearing for whole grade sharing agreement at 8:00 P.M. Members present were Andrew Naeve, Warren Koch, Mollie Galusha, Steve Gendreau, and Jon Wall.
Parents/teachers were heard for or against said whole grade sharing agreement with Northeast Community School.
The following individual spoke – Dick Keeney, Lance Abernathy, Troy Hansen, Lisa Holdgrafer, Gary Holdgrafer, Scott Wilson, Jodi Meyer, Laura Schulz, and David Miller.
Warren Koch moved and Mollie Galusha seconded to adjourn the public hearing. Roll Call Vote – Koch-yes – Galusha-yes – Wall-yes – Gendreau-yes - Naeve-yes. Motion carried.
REGULAR MEETING, MAY 17, 2010
The Board met in regular session May 17th at 9:00 P.M. Members present were Mollie Galusha, Andrew Naeve, Steve Gendreau, Warren Koch, and Jon Wall.
The minutes of the previous meetings were read for approval. Warren Koch moved and Andrew Naeve seconded to approve the minutes as read. Roll Call Vote – Gendreau-yes – Koch-yes - Naeve-yes – Wall-yes – Galusha-yes. Motion carried.
Delegations – Matt Meyers presented the Board with a petition signed by students to keep Rick Meisner’s position.
The financial reports were presented for discussion. Jon Wall moved and Mollie Galusha seconded to approve the financial reports as presented. Roll Call Vote – Galusha-yes – Wall-yes – Naeve-yes – Gendreau-yes – Koch-yes. Motion carried.
The monthly bills were presented for discussion. Warren Koch moved and Jon Wall seconded to approve the monthly bills as allowed. Roll Call Vote – Naeve-yes – Wall-yes – Koch-yes – Galusha-yes – Gendreau-yes. Motion carried.
Andrew Naeve moved and Warren Koch seconded to approve the agenda with no additions. Roll Call Vote – Naeve-yes – Wall-yes – Koch-yes – Galusha-yes – Gendreau-yes. Motion carried.
Supt.’s report:
(a) Report by Matt McDonough about Microsoft settlement;
(b) Report by Neil Gray about preschool physical environment;
(c) Report by Neil Gray about Northeast School Board action on whole
grade sharing agreement.
There was no old business to discuss or act upon.
Warren Koch moved and Jon Wall seconded to approve Andrew Naeve’s resignation as varsity boys basketball coach. Roll Call Vote – Koch-yes – Wall-yes – Gendreau-yes – Galusha-yes – Naeve-abstained. Motion carried.
Warren Koch moved and Andrew Naeve seconded to approve Rick Meisner’s resignation as secondary social studies instructor. Roll Call Vote – Koch-yes – Naeve-yes – Gendreau-yes – Galusha-yes – Wall-no. Motion carried with a 4-1 vote.
Mollie Galusha moved and Jon Wall seconded to ratify the agreement with East Central Education Association – freeze base, no step change, and maintain present benefits. Roll Call Vote – Galusha-yes – Wall-yes – Koch-yes – Naeve-yes – Gendreau-yes. Motion carried.
Warren Koch moved and Andrew Naeve seconded to freeze current wages of administrators and support staff for 2010-11 school year. Roll Call Vote – Koch-yes – Naeve-yes – Gendreau-yes – Wall-yes – Galusha-yes. Motion carried.
Jon Wall moved and Mollie Galusha seconded to approve fence repair quote from American Fence & Pool for $2,241.00. Roll Call Vote – Wall-yes – Galusha-yes – Koch-yes – Naeve-yes – Gendreau-yes. Motion carried.
Mollie Galusha moved and Warren Koch seconded to approve summer workers – Keri Cassaday, Dylan Rittmer, Austin Daniels, and Brittney Volquardsen. Roll Call Vote – Galusha-yes – Koch-yes – Wall-yes. – Gendreau-yes – Naeve-yes. Motion carried.
The Board had the first reading of emergency care guidelines.
Being there was no further business to discuss or act upon, Mollie Galusha moved and Andrew Naeve seconded to adjourn the meeting. Roll Call Vote – Naeve-yes – Wall-yes – Galusha-yes – Gendreau-yes – Koch-yes. Motion carried.
